Picasa

What is it?
  • Picasa is free photo editing software from Google.
How can you use it?
  • Picasa can be used to organize, edit, and share photographs with anyone who has access to the internet.
  • In the classroom we can use it as a story telling tool, fun activities in the classroom, and just as a way to motivate students to document their lives and possibly share with others.
  • In addition to name tags, Picasa 3.5 has integrated Google Maps, so you can easily geotag your photos or view the locations of already tagged photos on a map. And using the totally redesigned import process, you can now import photos from your camera and upload the phots to Picasa Web Albums in one easy step.

Why would you use it?
  • I would use it because all of us love to see pictures of ourselves and our friends. My students would be motivated to document (take pictures), get online, and create.
  • Include standards (NETS and 21st Century Skills)
